Corrosion resistance:
S32205 has excellent resistance to general corrosion, pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking.
The high chromium (22-23%) and molybdenum (3-3.5%) content in S32205 provides excellent protection from a variety of corrosive environments, including seawater, chlorides, acids and various chemicals.
This enhanced corrosion resistance makes S32205 ideal for applications in harsh, corrosive environments such as offshore, marine and chemical process industries.
Mechanical Properties:
S32205 has high strength and toughness, with typical tensile strength of 620 to 860 MPa and yield strength of 450 to 650 MPa.
The dual-phase microstructure consisting of balanced austenite-ferrite phases contributes to the material’s excellent mechanical properties.
S32205 retains good impact toughness even at low temperatures, making it suitable for applications where impact resistance is critical.
Fatigue and Wear Resistance:
